I personally still play and enjoy The Bouncer almost entirely out of nostalgia because that game is absolute CHEEKS. It has some of the most laughably bad brawler design I've ever seen but I can tell "nostalgia good" and "actual good" apart lol

Nailed it. I'd also say people tend not to differentiate between "good" and "interesting/novel". Kuon for the PS2 is interesting/novel. It's also one of the worst survival horror games I've ever played. If you get a lot out of the novelty that's awesome but don't present it as an unknown masterpiece

But then on the other hand I think it's really cool to have a resource accumulating over time. Creates a lot of player agency in how you're going to use it or not use it. And also can inform a spectator of potential decisions that may be likely and what not ofc
