Probably to raise the profile of his program. Like the JS Article said, it was at a low point. So he was willing to take invitations--not sure who invited him, but probably youth basketball coaches

Weird to think he was younger than we are now. When you are a kid, all adults seem old, especially coaches. Always loved his answer to the kid who asked him what he does when one of his players starts swearing.
