IMHO, it's really manipulative for anyone to say, "I'll kill myself if I don't get what I want."
Nothing wrong w/setting limits on discretionary action: you can't vote until you're 18, can't drive until 16, can't drink until 21, etc. We should teach resiliency, patience, & coping skills to kids.

IMHO, these 2 positions (no trans drugs/surgery for minors, no males competing against females) are completely commonsense. It's OK to tell kids they can't make these life-changing decisions until they're older & OK to tell men & trans-women they don't get what they want w/regard to women's sports.

IMHO, the people who most need uncomfortable conversations are left-leaning Dems. As a Dem voter, I’m very disappointed we can’t speak plainly to the left and, as a result, we alienated voters in the middle.

Almost every Christmas since our sons were little boys, we make a family outing to a bookstore, let the kids browse for hours, and they select 2 favorites to take home plus 1 new Christmas story.

I recently retired and, like many do, made a “bucket list” of things to do: a plan to build memories I’d like to collect.
Pretty quickly, I modified this approach & trimmed the list to include experiences that could build SHARED memories in the time I have remaining.
MUCH better.

Since leaving Twitter, I’ve become more comfortable blocking people whose replies are more focused on attacking someone, rather than airing a perspective. I don’t mind being challenged, but am not willing to engage in Twitteresque arguments.

My position is that the Dem Party is losing elections to MAGA because of postures like this on divisive issues. Middle American voters would rather be rescued by a terribly flawed Trump than align w/Dem positions like these…

As a parent & grandparent, it is ridiculous to consider minors as eligible for cosmetic surgery of any kind, including tattoos & piercings. Body mods like that can wait until adulthood.
