I know there’s some *very very excellent* megadrive shmup music been released very very recently (ahem…Earthion). But there’s also a few short osts I did a while back that can also scratch your ym2612 itch right here: scowsh.bandcamp.com/album/locked...

Earthion is a banger of a game once you start to get a feel for how the mechanics works! Challenging, but fair imo. I think with enough practice, I might be able to clear the last two difficulties.

So... Finally remembered that this thing existed. Not sure how much use it'll get.
