So today is Black Cat Day, Teddy Roosevelt’s birthday & National Navy Day. Why do I know? Because today would have been my father’s 95th birthday. He had lots of friends but I doubt anyone else remembers. But I’m toasting him, since he always made his little girl feel worthy of love. Miss you Dad.

I feel like I’ve officially arrived - at the local watching a game with some friends. I’d say I’m rooting for red but apparently the home team wears red so the team I support today is…black and yellow? Confused but very happy!

Late afternoon viewing - my “brush” with fame was meeting him 3 times. He was a brilliant, personable, genuine man who had no time for people who took advantage of others. Advocates and skeptics like him are needed in this chaotic world of ours.
