for all the reasons that are immediately apparent. I think we need to reemphasize that these things we're interacting with and experiencing even digitally (films, books, tv essay) are in fact art and I think that emphasis starts with the language we use

like, the best art isn't understood off of first impression

we have to be curious

if someone doesn't understand an artistic choice within 2 seconds of experiencing that art they immediately ride it off as weird/off-putting. No one wants to do even cursory googling into finding out why someone did their art a certain way. or the things they're referencing
