Archqueen Consort Ophelia Nestrys, Keeper of the Gates of Lir, Admiral of the Lirran Fleet Born in the Year of the River 614 in the Castle in Love with the Wind. Died in 686 in Midnight. Before the River Realms were unified under the rule of the Melusind Archking Lothair I, war raged throughout the realms. Largely fought between the King of the Cymonean Vale, who had declared himself High King of the Vale and withheld deliveries of grain and other produce to various other regions, and the King of the Midnight Valley, whose son, the Prince Lothair had been prophesied to unite the River Realms under one Divine rule… Long time close allies of the Midnight Valley, the Kingdom of the Gates of Lir almost immediately joined the fight on the side of the Midnight King and lent their considerable naval forces to the cause. The Princess Ophelia of the Gates had been recently elevated to the Admiral of the Fleets of the Gates and this was how she and the Prince Lothair first met. From the very start of their acquaintance they worked well together, winning many battles. Together they developed new strategies and tactics utilising both the Princess’ naval forces and the Prince’s cadre of semi-aquatic melusine Knights. Their friendship became something more over the course of the war of unification and they were married in the middle of the war.

Archqueen Consort Sephyr Naufagium-Isharyn Born the Year of the River 901 in the port city of Danaeum, Died 972 in the Castle in Love with the Wind, Windward. Archqueen Consort to Lorn II. The Second Illain rebellion began when House Illain of the Cymonean Vale moved against the seemingly weak Archcrown, after the ascension of Lorn II who was just five years old at the time. In an effort to solidify their tenuous alliegiance with the Western houses of the Gates, the Archprince Regent, Illyrios, negotiated a new alliance with House Naufagium-Isharyn, sealed with the betrothal of the Archking and the similarly young scion of House Naufagium-Isharyn, the Lady Sephyr. Though they were not formally married until many years later, when they were both of acceptable ages. Sephyr outlived Lorn II by many years, becoming Archqueen Mother during the reign of Illyrios I, then later Archqueen Dowager during the reign of Illyrios II. She was a matriarch of the Archroyal House during a time of contradictions: one the one hand, the Realms saw a great increase in prosperity (largely due to the discovery and importation of Bluestone from the deserts of Yarezel) but also of stagnation and decay: Illyrios I managed to loose multiple territories of strategic importance to the Realm during his rule and Illyrios II was, by many accounts, a warmongerer… Much of the prosperity gained during this period was concentrated in the nobility and by the end of Sephyr’s life, the first whispers of unrest were beginning in the general population of the Realms…

She was born to a family of Astronomers in Etrifort though converted to the worship of Lir early in her adolesence.... Archking Consort Sabien Nain Born in the Year of the River, 716 in Endmeet, the capitol of the Duchy of Etrifort. Died in 756 at the Ash Gate. During the War of Succession that followed the death of Liagrius III, the late Archking’s chosen successor, the Archcrown Princess Illyria was forced to fight her cousin, Prince Lothair the Pretender and his many allies from the Cymonean Vale and the Needle. Hoping to solidify her support and, Illyria considered many strategic marriage opportunities, eventually she and her advisors decided that the best match would be the younger son of the Duke of Etrifort, Lord Sabien Nain, in order to ensure loyalty and military support from the Northern region. It certainly helped that Sabien was young, handsome and charismatic. He also shared many of the Archprincess’ interests (namely fighting and hunting). The marriage and close assistance of House Nain proved instrumental in the defeat of the Pretender, Prince Lothair. In the decades that followed the War of Succession, House Nain would benefit politically and econ

Prince Nynshuel Llameryn-Leolinius Ymleth Al Yare Born in the Year of the River 904 in Hannith Nyr/Midnight Prince Nynshuel is the son of an Archprince of the River Realms and an Elven ambassador. He and his sister, Princess Illyria fled the River Realms with their Elven mother during the Second Ilain rebellion. His mother was killed during their journey to her home of Yarezel so Nynshuel and his sister were raised by their Uncle Nenshenel Ymleth Al Yare and his family. Living in Yarezel gave Nynshuel the full benefits of his Elven heritage and so, when he returned to the River Realms almost a century after he left it, he still had the appearance of a young man. He had followed in his mother’s footsteps and become and become the Yarerin Ambassador to the River Realms early in the reign of Archking Lothair II, mostly overseeing the export of the highly valuable Bluestone. As a child of both the River Realms and the Yarerin, Prince Nynshuel not only has a deep understanding of the cultures and ways of both Kingdoms, but also worships both the Goddess of the River, Lir and is also a follower of the Reverence of Gold, the ancient Elven Faith. Currently, Prince Nynshuel resides in the largest of the Vitrian Free Cities, Tell Leilan, where he assists the Master of the Vitrian wing of the Blue Hand Syndicate with matters requiring secrecy and subterfuge…

Archqueen Consort Methia Ilain Born in the Year of the River 633 in Crown Keep in the Cymonean Vale. Died in The White Palace, Midnight in 714. House Ilain is and has always been treated with suspicion and kept at arms length by the Archcown. It was therefore incredibly unlikely that the Lady Methia Illain, daughter of the High Lord Ilain of the Cymonean Vale could ever become Archqueen Consort… Not long after the unification of the River Realms, House Ilain launched an ill-fated rebellion against the newly ascended Archking Lothair I. House Ilain had once been the House of the Kings of the Vale, but Lothair I had seen them reduced to mere High Lords in the aftermath of the War of Unification. During the hostilities between House Ilain and the Archcrown, the Lady Methia Ilain betrayed her house and offered herself as a hostage to the Archcrown (rumoured to be due to mistreatment at the hands of her own family), along with all the military intelligence she had gained from her brothers and father. House Ilain would say that she was kidnapped, though she really did act of her own volition. She and the Archrpince Liagrius soon fell in love and were *secretly* married, such that the Archcrown could maintain a charade that she would be in grave danger should House Illain not cooperate. The charade proved unsuccesful, as the heir to the Midnight throne, the Archcrown Prince Lothair, was killed when he was ambushed by a member of House Ilain. He was the first of many Arhcprince Lothairs to die before ascending the throne… The rebellion was crushed not long afterwards. Upon his father’s death many years later, Archprince Liagrius became Archking, and thus Methia Ilain became the most unlikely Archqueen Consort.

Deep Yellows: a haughty looking man with light brown/blond hair wearing golden armour and a yellow cape. There is a yellow intricate border featuring scrollwork and eyes and a sigil in the bottom left of the image. 2. Prince Lothair “the Pretender” Llameryn-Leolinius Born in the Year of the River 717 in The White Palace of Midnight. Died in 741 on the southern bank of the River Auresta marking the end of the War of Succession. The death of Archking Liagrius III threw the Realm into a violent disarray: on the one hand, he had named his eldest child, Archprincess Illyria, as his sucessor, (his eldest son Archprince Clovis had been made Prince of the newly annexed Kingdom of Effrene and by Lirran Law could not vie for the Archthrone, nor did he have any aspirations to do so). On the other hand, women typically did not inherit their father’s titles or lands… There were many throughout the River Realms who did not think a woman should be able to sit upon the Midnight Throne, or any throne for that matter, and her cousin, Prince Lothair decided to press the matter (likely at the insistence of the honeyed words of his mother, Princess Morgayne). Under normal circumstances he *would* have inherited the Archthrone and decided it as his duty and his right to challenge his cousin for the Archcrown. He declared himself the Archcrown Prince and declared war on his cousin. Archprincess lllyria however, had been taught well by her warrior father and was not only a skilled warrior, but she was learned and wise in the ways of leading armies and conducting a war. Illyria slew her cousin on the battlefield and he became yet another Archprince Lothair to die before he could sit the Midnight Throne…

Starting with Mother Heirophine Sieglinde -
Yellows. An old woman in oppulent dress. she has a pendant attatched to a ribbon around her forehead, a yellow veil and is adorned in intricately tied ropes on her head and torso. A Border featuring scrollwork and two eyes surrounds her. There is a sigil in the bottom right - three sprigs of wheat and white lilies on a yellow field with two eyes in the dexter and sinister chief positions. 1. Mother Heirophine Sieglinde, Voice of Idlehind Personal Name: Lady Odelia Illain Born in the Year of the River 976 in Crown Keep, Cymonean Vale Although she was the eldest child of the High Lord Sigmund Illain, Lady Odelia was not to inherit her father’s lands or titles as she was from the Cymonean Vale, by far the most backwards and conservative region in the River Realms. The women of the Vale never truly benefited from the sweeping reforms brought by the Archqueen Illyria I. As a noble Lady of House Illain, Odelia’s only options were marriage or the priesthood. Being an independant and fiercely motivated woman, Odleia chose the latter. She joined the Idamersine Order very young and quickly ascended through the ranks of the priesthood to eventually become the Voice of Idlehind at the mere age of 34, an incredibly early age to achieve such a high standing within the Church of Lir. On becoming the Voice of Idlehind, she took the name Sieglinde, paying homage to the local Saint Siegfried of the Swans. The Idamersine Order however, is known not to be the *purest* of Lirran Orders, it has a reputation amongst the clergy to be rather corrupt, in many ways a political pawn of the High Lords of the Vale. Sieglinde’s (prev. Odelia) position in the Church conintued to bring her House of Illain much power, influence and wealth. Her rapid rise through the ranks was also likely due to generous donations from her House Illain…
