I recently visited the Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial. It was absolutely heartbreaking, and the current political climate made it truly terrifying.

"Let it not happen again." -Nidoto Nai Yōni
A memorial plaque set into stone that gives a brief history of the 227 residents of Bainbridge Island who were forcibly sent to a Japanese American internment camps on March 30, 1942. The plaque also contains a quote from Nidoto Nai Yōni, "Let it not happen again."

My happy thought for today is Merkin, my Cinnamon Point Balinese. He is my sweet cuddle monster.
