The rescission bill has passed the Senate. Once it passes the House, as expected, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting's budget will be zeroed out for the first time since 1967, back when TV stations still broadcast in black and white.

I talked to Cody Funke yesterday to make sure he understood our story would say he made mistakes. He reacted by chuckling and saying, yeah, figured as much but it needs to be told. Funke was super cooperative as we reported this story. He doesn't want to see this happen with another new coroner.

The Heritage Foundation's Project 2025 called for dismantling the NOAA, which provides warnings of natural disasters, such as the deadly floods in Texas. The irony is that Heritage wanted these cuts because it’s angry that NOAA helps prove the reality of climate change--the thing causing floods.

That’s a tough question. Resisting masked armed thugs in any circumstance can get you beaten or killed by the armed thugs. If the masked armed thugs are agents of the U.S. government it will also get you prosecuted for “assault on a federal officer” or “resisting arrest.”
