And, just a side note, but disrupting the supply chain for addictive drugs does nothing to decrease demand. Addicts have run individual experiments on this countless times, trying to get sober by limiting their own access to their favorite drug. Ask a sober person if that worked for them.

I know you already know, but for other folks who don't, Goldsmith was previously head of OLC, is a genuinely brilliant mind on executive authority and separation of powers, and is usually very cautious about making claims this unqualified and direct. That he is saying it so starkly is v significant

As I always do with boycotts, I urge: be tough with corporations, gentle with individual buyers. For some people, Black Friday sales are the way they get their kids jackets that fit, shoes that hold up to the weather. Yelling at them doesn’t help the cause.

As a rule I listen to stuff on crappy laptop speakers, or in places where other things are going on, so when I occasionally listen to stuff on headphones I grow angry about how listening to stuff on crap speakers limits what I can enjoy. Then I keep doing it. That's the Safecat Difference.

I unconditionally support this position. While cyber jukeboxes present a few new opportunities for goofs — theoretically I like putting on music at a bar I'm not at when I know my wife is there — it feels very sterile; and half the fun of a jukebox is digging through the list
On national jukebox day I must come out against being able to control the jukebox from your phone, people should know who put on that awful song and you should stand there and support your taste with whole heart
