I'm also wondering if it makes a difference if cards are shuffled after each "round" (ie when you run out of cards from your draw pile and then recycle the previous cards you won).

The first thing that comes to my mind when I hear the word trick is "magic trick", something surprising and mysterious (or I don't know what's actually going on). A "habit" is a regular practice that, if it's a good habit, will make my life better/easier.

I really prefer "habits" to "tricks", and I do think this distinction is more than semantics.
