Popped in our local B&N to grab a copy of the Analog I’m in!

I’ll be at @armadillocon.bsky.social this weekend, the wonderfully nerdy literary convention in Austin!

Hey look, it’s me! Absolutely delighted to have a story in Analog.

Came across this old photo of Rowan in a laundry basket; it’s still one of my favorites. She is just painfully adorable.

The fact that this is a solved problem almost makes it worse, honestly. And to me, points an even stronger finger at needing a more robust system (than the current WSFS) for continuity from one con to the next.

Something very very weird happened during the Hugos award ceremony... It's been on my mind for days, and so I wrote this blog: "When People Giggle at Your Name, or the 2025 Hugo Awards Incident"

Eclipse took a moment to pose under the paper lanterns, in all her regal fluffiness.

Had a great time at worldcon! So glad I got to go this year. Hung out with friends, went to some awesome panels, bought cool stuff, and went to an excellent reading by @interstellarflight.bsky.social. Who could ask for more?

We’re in that time of year when the cats are no longer content to take turns in my lap but must double up and I love it (seriously, how cute are they).

Financial statement today reminded me HOW GREAT IT IS when folks request that their libraries acquire books. 😍

Seriously, if you want a totally free-to-you way to help an author, submit a request with your local library. Those sales help us so much, in whatever format.

Breaking my unplanned social media silence to share the adorable stumpiness of my scruffy alley cat girl’s legs 😂 (I know some cats are bred for this but she was literally found in a dumpster).

Think I might need to print this out and put it on my wall 😅
What if, instead of trying to have a productive writing day, you aimed for a satisfying one instead?

people who use goodreads: jeff bezos owns goodreads and if you want a better alternative there is a black woman owned company called storygraph that you can use to replace it. you can transfer all of your data from goodreads to storygraph and have your mind be free of trumpie jeff bezos! win win. 💙

One of the fun things about having 4 (yes 4) cats is a photo of one is almost always photobombed by another. Behold Eclipse—in all her fluffy glory!—and Willow, sneaking up to say hi. #cats

Not sure if reading John Koenig’s Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows was a good idea for trying to get past the election or not… oof. (I do recommend it though, it’s quite beautifully written.)

Halloween is also a holiday for my hunter-cat Quill—the door is open so much more often for trick or treaters, and in come the BUGS. He’ll be delighted to have this batch sorted soon. (Yes, he is indoor only…. he would murder EVERYTHING if allowed outside.)
