I'm pretty squarely average height for a UK man and don't recall being seriously penalised for this while dating when younger. (I was generally pretty squarely averagely successful.) But nowadays from Discourse I get an impression that height for heterosexual men has become incredibly determinative?
was it really always this much of an obsession? because I do remember an occasional bitter short guy when I was much younger but I do not remember women talking about this much at all. I am also somewhat tall, so perhaps I just missed it, but feels like a recent development
