Auto recycling, circular economy, resource recovery, no junkyards, EVs and EV batteries,
50% plastics by volume is a little high, but no where near 50% by weight. Still a lot of metals in EVs, many of them precious and not mined or recycled in the USA.
But the base assumption of gas prices increasing by restricting or taxing oil imports should encourage the transition to EVs.
