I’m liking the updated @home-assistant.io Areas card. Currently doing some side by side testing with my current lighting group cards. Can fit a lot of info in little space o the Areas card.

Got my ECOVACS X8 Pro Omni updated to Matter and added to Apple Home, SmartThings and @home-assistant.io This is the first Matter device I’ve tested that has MORE features in Apple Home than Home Assistant. Apple lets you choose the rooms to clean and shows current room when cleaning. #smarthome

Can you tell when I did my @home-assistant.io Yellow CM4 to CM5 upgrade? Went from 2GB RAM to 8 GB RAM. #smarthome #homeassistant

Updating my HA Yellow from CM4 to CM5 did not go well 😅 Had to figure out rpiboot, running Terminal in Rosetta mode, wtf GIT cloning and Homebrew are, which took an hour. After that, things went smoothly until booting back up and ZHA tried to start up. Still left with all 50 Zigbee devices offline

As a strong proponent of using @home-assistant.io on “easy mode”, I had to put aside my no-YAML rule and tinker with the new 2025.3 header. #smarthome

I’ve setup my first Matter 1.3 certified device, the Aqara H2 switch. 1.3 means it has power monitoring. I’ve added it to Apple Home, SmartThings and Home Assistant via Multi Admin. Only @home-assistant.io supports the power monitor… #Smarthome #homeassistant

SwitchBot has updated their new air purifiers to have direct Matter integration (no hub needed).
Good news: it integrates both air purifier as % and modes and air sensor
Bad news: no led light integratation and air sensor is only extremely poor to good states. #smarthome #homeassistant

Time for an upgrade! 💻 My HA Yellow has been chugging along happily for a couple years. But now that it’s at 250+ devices and 100+ automatons, RAM utilization is a little high for comfort. I’ll go from RPi CM4 2GB RAM to RPi CM5 8GB RAM. Wish me luck!😅 #smarthome #homeassistant #raspberrypi

Did a bit early spring cleaning and gave away 30+ smart home devices to people. Now my spares cabinet is ready for 2025.

Today I learned:
1) Matter supports battery type data
2) @home-assistant.io now shows it
3) Aqara supports it via their Matter bridge

Should be able to do that with the standard alarm card or another card that supports an alarm panel. I tried rolling my own for a while but gave that up when I setup Alarmo.
