Hmm. sounds like you're describing autism there. Maybe calling these traits unassociated with the actual meaning of the word dyslexia means they can be diagnosed as something less stigmatising than autism.
Dyslexia isn’t just about difficulties with reading or writing, it’s also about unique strengths in creativity, communication, and problem-solving. Understanding both sides helps us create environments where dyslexic learners can truly thrive. #DyslexiaAwareness

Today marks the two-year anniversary of the horrific October 7 attack.

As we mourn the 1,218 lives lost that day, let us also keep alive the dream of a lasting peace and a better future for all.

Ceasefire now. Every hostage must come home. And a safer world for everyone.

The attack on the synagogue in Manchester and the attack on the mosque in Sussex are completely horrifying. Violence anywhere is terrible of course but it takes a certain tenor when it’s clear that people are being targeted because of their identity.

and criminalizing protest won’t fix it. like ??

I am Jewish.
I grieve the murders.
I support peace in Gaza.
I see murderous rhetoric on Insta/TikTok from people feeling Israel's actions in Gaza justify every trope they've ever heard.
This war has not made Jewish people safer, including the hostages which it was apparently meant to be saving.
As we all still process our horror of the antisemitic murders of two members of Manchester's Jewish community, efforts have already begun to smear critics of Israel's genocide in Gaza as all tangentially culpable, while police are trying to stop people protesting www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

Apparently Reform is saying they would retract settled status. Besides being nasty to the individuals concerned the rerospective impact of changes like this undermines trust in the government and would exclude from the UK people doing necesary jobs. This this policy apears to be pure scapegoating.

I have stopped ironing my clothes (I only started doing this years ago when I moved out of London) as a peronal response protest re the fashion for torn jeans. Unfortunately the problem this sort of personal protest is nobody knows they are a protest so they are stunningly ineffective

Yesterday, the largest far-right protest in UK history marched through London, led by racist Tommy Robinson.

Today, we say: They don’t speak for us — and they won’t have the last word.

This Wednesday we come together against Trump and for a better future. Do everything to be there.

Brilliant piece on the casual erasure of of a female artist from a landmark moment in pop culture. And the answer to the question, Why don’t Peter Blake’s other album covers have the power and impact of Sgt. Pepper?
Years ago I wrote this piece about national treasure and dreadful old c**t Peter Blake. Have just dredged it up for my new best friend @typetheclouds.bsky.social who had the good sense to buy my fucking book™ at the Hastings book fair.

The cognitive dissonance (which is perhaps generous) from the government on the state of free speech comparing its response to the far-right against those protesting the proscription of Palestine Action is increasingly hard to comprehend, as govt belief moves into govt (in)action.
‘Business secretary Peter Kyle was asked by Sky News’ Trevor Phillips this morning if the demonstration – organised by far-right activist Tommy Robinson – “disturbed” him.

Kyle said the number of people who turned out for the protest shows free speech is “alive and well” in the UK.’

For shame
Today people went around my neighborhood in north east London spray painting St George’s crosses onto people’s homes. Many of these houses have non British people living in them.

This is getting very dark, very quick.

I'm so pleased, its sunny and raining at the back of the house and sunny and dry at the front. I've always wanted to experience the point at which it is raining one side and dry the other. This could be an item from my (non-existant actually) bucket list

There are more Christian Zionists in the US than there are Jews in the entire world, and polls consistently show that they hold, on average, more right-wing views on Israel-Palestine than do American Jews. But no one is spray-painting "Stop the genocide" on a megachurch in Omaha.
I question the credibility of this report. It says most anti-semitic acts are vandalism. Is a spray-painted "No genocide" on a synagogue an anti-semitic act? It's difficult to say when the Israel claims to be killing on behalf of Jews, and most synagogues are unequivocally supportive of Israel.

I went to this, and although it was moving I started to wonder what impact it had on actual starving people Then I remembered my mother telling me that as a Jew growing up in Nazi Germany hearing that there was international concern about her situation was important to her and made a difference.
Hundreds of people joined @ukfost.bsky.social today to say stop starving Gaza, end the war of annihilation& bring the hostages home. Magen Inon & Mira Awad spoke powerfully. We all feel so broken & helpless, but we must keep going.

I spoke about Awdah: docs.google.com/document/d/1...

This is so true and useful to remember.
We need to teach people the difference between being uncomfortable and being unsafe. Because the discomfort of the safest people is endangering the most vulnerable, all day every day.
