another upside of making your own, you get exactly what you want but it can take up to a week to fully infuse. I also use bees wax which I also infuse. but i typically use that when the beard is a bit longer. Hope this was helpful!

manageable. (I comb first and brush second). Most brushes are use boar bristles (boar being swine) but synthetic ones can be found.
Making your own is cheaper and but requires a little bit more effort. I use refined shea butter (unrefined smells awful) and i infuse it with the scents i prefer.

If you want to go off the shelf you can check out Scotch Porter. Obv Shea Moisture has products but I don't like their scent lineup. I actually ended up going the route of making my own
