Been neglecting some personal news. Two weeks ago was the 36th anniversary of our wedding on Martha’s Vineyard, and we celebrated by attending the wedding of our son Quincy, ALSO on Martha’s Vineyard!!

Forgot I had this. Can’t wait to see how Big Blue smashes Zack Snyder.

Anyone who’s heard my RSC songs knows how influential Tom Lehrer was to me. My high school senior quote from his “Folk Song Army” recognized that Art – Comedy especially – is an act of resistance. Grateful to my parents for this album and proud to have passed the #LehrerLove on to my kids.

Oh look. As of today, I've now been performing with @reduced.bsky.social over half my life. Hey ho.

Loved @questlove.bsky.social’s film SLY LIVES, especially when Shakespeare holds forth about THE BURDEN OF BLACK GENIUS. Bravo.

This grim-visaged warrior actually got a few laughs in last Monday's CORIOLANUS by the Back Room Shakespeare Project, cut to a fleet & fierce 85 minutes by Sam Pearson (bloody C himself) and performed in Chicago's tiny Hideout tavern. #TheFaultDearBrutusIsNotInOurBars

Happy #Juneteenth! I first learned about Crispus Attucks, Mary McLeod Bethune, Shakespearean actor Ira Aldridge & many others in BLACK AND WHITE by "Wee Pals" cartoonist Morrie Turner. Published 1969 by Troubador Press (which my dad joined in the 70s), I have 1 copy left. Somebody publish it again!

Lovely to see THE WILDES by @louisbayard.bsky.social so prominently displayed in my local library, where it was recently (and unsurprisingly) a very popular book club pick!

Happy closing to the company of FOOL @7agestheatricals.bsky.social! @theauthorguy.bsky.social and I were comically trepidatious then authentically delighted, and nothing's more valuable to a playwright than seeing the script on its feet in front of an audience. Many thanks, you wonders!

Happy Pride Month from Javier & Samuel (and Felicity)!

Audiences are loving FOOL! Even Sheboygan's poet laureate (apparently a real thing!) has weighed in. 8 performances of the @7agestheatricals.bsky.social production left, and I'll be there on June 7 with @theauthorguy.bsky.social himself. I hope you can see it!

Very excited for tonight's opening of my adaptation of @theauthorguy.bsky.social's FOOL by @7agestheatricals.bsky.social in beautiful downtown Sheboygan WI. 8 actors play dozens of roles and I'll be there this weekend and again on June 7; join me if you can!

ST. ELSEWHERE & CHEERS were instrumental in my choosing Boston for grad school, a fact I was privileged to share with George Wendt on multiple occasions. Privileged to have been his friend and bummed I never got to see his Falstaff. @americantheatre.org www.reducedshakespeare.com/2015/09/epis...

Florence Pugh, my favorite onscreen Cordelia, is the absolute heart and soul of THUNDERBOLTS*. I loved it and (especially) her.

Visited Sheboygan and the poster confirms it — FOOL is happening! Weekends May 23-June 8 by @7agestheatricals.bsky.social and both @theauthorguy.bsky.social will be there on June 7.
