There's 2 weeks left of early bird registrations for @foss4g.org and no more extensions.

We've got good registrations already and some great sponsors. And we have a great volunteer team (pic related).

So, register now as you'll regret missing out on a bargain later!

This little checkbox should be checked by default on all Git repositories on @github.com

Super useful not to need to clean up dead branches after a merge!

Who wants to sponsor @foss4g.org in Auckland in November?

No better time than now to commit!

Made my own map. Why is the Australian Atlas providing distances in miles? Also, it doesn't have my fancy roads layer in the legend. So silly.

(Printing maps is very 1990s too!)

I want to complain about maps...

Exhibit 1, rare earth elements. Because the OBJECTID_1 and SHAPE__Length are very important indicators of the availability of rare earth elements.

I’m on my way to the @cloudnativegeo.org conference, sporting my OG cloud native geospatial hoodie from 2020!

Looking forward to meeting new people and being absolutely humbled by what people are doing.

Also running a workshop Thursday morning, teaching some CNG for EO.

Got a new M4 Macbook Pro and somehow I have Python chewing up 100 GB in one process and 30 GB in another and the machine is just super happy, smooth as silk. Getting a bit hot doing some kind of neural network prediction stuff, but sailing through!

(Would be faster if it wasn't swapping at all...)

Open source geospatial software is older than open source software! Maybe spatial is special 😂 #locate25

I'm a prompt engineer! Mine doesn't look ghibli-like, for some reason though.

A wrapper to gently unwrap and clean 20 year old tapes with unique satellite radar data!

You still do something like this, right @joemorrison.bsky.social?

The @foss4g.org 2025 conference website is live!

And I'm leading sponsorship, so if you'd like your company's logo up there on that website showcasing your support for the open geospatial community, then please get in touch!

I pushed GEBCO data up to S3 on @source.coop. Thanks to @mdsumner.bsky.social for making a better COG than me!

Included are instructions for streaming subsets into Python. Mikey might provide similar for R :-D
