Back in 2017, I commissioned an artist named @somdude424.bsky.social to help complete a comic project named Belly Rubbed starring two new original characters.

In it, a man named Anthony summons a genie named Julius from a magic lamp and makes a wish which changes both of their lives forever.

Whereas Ryder went down the route of being a jerkass trickster, Fehnvir became vengeful about his situation and decided to be a genie who purposefully twists his master's wishes. Many centuries later, he reunited with Ryder. As an act of revenge, the lion tricked Lee into switching places with him.

Varron had spent five hundred years sealed in a bottle after he was betrayed by his lover. Thankfully, Caleb came across the bottle during a treasure hunt and pulled out the stopper. After this, Varron discovered Caleb was his Hiraeth, a genie's fated mate, and set out to earn the shy witch's love.

This enchanting couple are Caleb Grimaldi and Varron Sevarine. Caleb is a young witch whose family name was tainted following a horrific act by his father. Varron is a genie and the prince of the Northern Kingdom, a place in the parallel world of Talybris, that is the current home of the genie race.

These magical individuals are Fehnvir Almaros and Metzi Karvaggio. Fehnvir was originally mortal, but after summoning Ryder, he wished to become a genie to prove he could do a better job. Metzi was a mortal entertainer, who fell inside a magical top hat and was transformed into a genie as a result.

Over the years, Ryder and Lee's relationship grew leaps and bounds. A series of events caused Lee to eventually became a vampire. Despite their initial concerns, this had no impact on their relationship as Ryder was still an all powerful genie, even though he had been wished free from his lamp.

As a result of Lee wishing Ryder to be free from his lamp, the wusky and the now liberated wolf were able to spend some time together as equals, instead of being servant and master. They eventually began a romantic relationship, a bond which grew quickly due to the fact that they were fated mates.

Ryder spent hundreds of years trapped inside his lamp. Every so often, someone would rub the lamp and receive three wishes as a reward for summoning him. Eventually, his lamp was found by a wusky named Elijah 'Lee' Leontiou, who selflessly used one of his wishes to free Ryder from his lamp.

This handsome chap is Xavier 'Ryder' Shineryder, my first furry OC, who was created back in October 2010. He is an anthropomorphic wolf who was originally mortal, but after accidentally breaking a curse on an evil sorcerer, Ryder was transformed into a genie and trapped inside a magic lamp.
