This is what I’m saying.
Disabled people have been sounding the alarm about fascism for five years now. Pandemics lead to fascism. They excuse the deaths of the most vulnerable first. How do you not become vulnerable like us? Wear a mask! If you become disabled from Covid, they’ll excuse your death too.

It literally takes one bout of flu/covid/mono/Lyme/etc to make you disabled. If it happened to me, it can happen to you.
A lot of chronic illness is post viral. People are healthy until they get flu, mono, covid etc

It only takes one infection to upend your life & leave you with severe disabilities

RFK Jr says he wants to end chronic illness epidemic & yet will make avoiding viruses harder

Get boosted. Wear a mask.

A man with no experience and a long history of being an antivaxxer, is not only in charge of the health of the whole of the US but will make decisions on infection prevention that will impact everyone in the world.

Remind yourself everyday that the panopticon is a myth. At the end of the day, if you're going to be seen it will require a pair of human eyes at some point. They do not have enough eyes for us all.

Maybe they can get one person or many despite VPN and encryption, but all of us? Not a chance.

If you’re gonna talk about building community yall you need to wear a mask. It’s all intersectional & I don’t see enough people connecting the dots. Disabled people are not expendable
I've seen a lot of people in the US talk about community today. But very few know what that means. Community isn't just you and your friends. It includes disabled people and other marginalized groups. It's masking and taking precautions to protect others. It's caring for others!

Trump’s White House just withdrew the US from the Paris Climate Agreement and World Health Organization. This shameful embrace of science denial puts the entire world at greater risk of climate catastrophe and deadly pandemics.

It’s that the crowd cheered.

For five excruciating years, we have been trying to tell you that leaving us to rot in our homes or die was unacceptable, that this is precisely where it leads. We’ve been called hysterical. Paranoid. “Weird about COVID.”

Now he pulls out of WHO to rescind pandemic protocols.

Do you get it?

I know a lot of people don’t want to hear this… but if you’re going to talk about resisting & community building…wear a mask.

For yourself, for your community, for disabled & vulnerable people.

We’re watching what’s left of public health be gutted… protect yourself.

Hey, while y'all are out creating the next new social media app centralized or decentralized, could you maybe consult some black people & disabled people? It will do you a world of good.

It’s nearly impossible to explain to non disabled people the hope we had at the beginning of the pandemic.

Hope for inclusion & accommodation. For better awareness & treatment of chronic illness.

Having that hope ripped away and replaced with increasing ableism, eugenics & hatred? Its devastating
Remember when the pandemic began and everyone started accommodating remote work? Everyone began showing brand new movies and live concerts streaming? Disabled people had been fighting for this for decades. Now it’s all taken away. It’s not that they can’t accommodate us, they just don’t want to.

Wow, big surprise. It turns out that getting sick more often does *not* make you stronger, but actually weakens you and makes you more prone to illness. The idea that 'kids just need to be exposed to bugs' needs to die. jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...
