If we ever have power again, the number 1 thing we have to do with it is fight fascism. That means prosecuting those who break or have broken the law, and passing new laws to shore up democracy. I don’t care if you’re left or center as long as you believe that.

Yes this is a bigger re-alignment of a Dem coalition than Obama 08. Notice how he’s made a broad coalition without welcoming in transphobes or anti abortion assholes!
For anyone who follows NY politics, the fact that state Democratic leaders Kathy Hochul, Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Carl Heastie are about to appear on stage at Zohran Mamdani’s big Forest Hills rally (which is also being headlined by AOC and Bernie Sanders) is tectonic.

The lesson from 2024 is that “just governing” and quietly implementing policies that make people’s lives better is a losing formula if you don’t also shore up democracy itself.
That includes a new VRA since SCOTUS won’t let us have the old one and packing the court so we can keep the new one.

there were people saying this is where everything was headed way back in 2020 and they were scoffed at and ignored and sidelined by the dem party. and if you ask me, maybe the people who did the scoffing should be less influential in the party going forward. just imo
