Lover of words, science, & trivia. Intolerant of intolerance. Random acts of kindness do make a difference. Fantasy baseball champion (yes, it's dorky) and often praised for my grilled cheese skills.
I can't take credit for this one but one of my neighbors has been putting in some serious effort. #flowerfridayfamily

The lack of wage growth in the US is definitely not a factor though

The aurora is barely visible from outside Phoenix, almost not at all to the naked eye. Nightsight photo captures a bit of a red hue. Better than nothing!

Very faint hue in GC, picked up on Nightsight image (Android). Barely discernable to the naked eye though.

The Tarantula Hawks (wasps) have returned with the cooler temps at night. I haven't seen one get a tarantula yet but they're fun to see in the trees. At a distance anyway. They're big (about 3" long) and have one of the most painful stings in the insect world.

It's not technically a #flowerfridayfamily flowering plant, but I always smile at the way this saguaro next to the house is pointing at the mountain like a spokesmodel. If you zoom in, you can see one of the local inhabitants too.

A couple North American T-6 Texans practicing formation flying above my house just now. It's officially (expensive) toy season in Arizona.

Can you try clicking on the green SHARE button, and then try clicking next on the stacked squares (the copy icon) and then come back to the thread and do a paste into the thread. I think when you do the Share to BlueSky function it assumes a new post each time.

Arizona Congressional District 7 contains more than 811,000 people. These Americans currently have no House representation in Congress because Speaker Johnson refuses to swear in their elected representative.

First one I posted after joining the group. A 2! I think I'd started doing them a week or two earlier, at most.

I've got badges! Now I feel complete 😁 I know my stats disappeared a couple hundred puzzles in too. Oh well. The badges are still a bit of silly fun. Who doesn't need that right now?

Eight years since my dad died. Son of immigrants. Army Special Forces. PhD. Lifelong science educator. No matter what obligations he had, he made time to coach my soccer teams, or come to track meets. Taught me a lot, but learning what true integrity and ethics look like were the most valuable.
