I saw someone complaining the other day that they had to come up with a prompt on a platform that AI generates music, so they suggested adding a button that generates prompts for you and it made me wanna throw up.

I want off this ride 😭

You CAN actually fake it, but it's pretty hard. The gist of it is that the carrier looks at the TTL of the packets, to check if it's "bounced through" another device before hitting their network. In theory, that should never be true for phones.

Fraud protection, mostly. Once they release the funds, they’re “gone”, and very hard to claw back. If they hold it in escrow for a few days, it gives enough time for people to report most fraud, and recovering the funds is significantly easier.

I was a little intimidated by the format at first too, but the further I got into it, the easier I found it to read. A lot of the text really boils down more to “vibes” then dense interpretation.

You can still take that route for sure, but it doesn’t REQUIRE it of the reader.

Many text to speech voices actually ARE ai now, they just aren’t LLMs. They used to be made by stitching recordings of each phonetic syllable together based on the input, but that sounded disjointed— so modern voices use an ML network to generate the audio from scratch, no human (directly) involved.
