I've been watching "Four Tankmen and a Dog" lately and it's a lot of fun and I think one of the reasons I like it is that the four main (human) characters kinda feel like Leiji Matsumoto designed them, particularly Gustlik the loader, who is a ridiculously tall and willowy man with a big beaky nose
