We compared the effects of short high-concentration (acute) exposure and prolonged low-concentration (chronic) exposure of #acetamiprid, #clothianidin, and #sulfoxaflor
Chronic exposure affected energy production and immunity while acute exposure activated stress responses and caused neural issues.

Tissue-specific expression changes provide insight into organism-wide effects of pesticides and may explain the complex effects of exposure on bees at the organismal level 🐝🌸

Energy production was the only pathway affected across all three tissues! We also found that the capacity to detoxify neonicotinoids varies across tissues and that different #detoxification genes are disrupted during exposure.

#Clothianidin impacted all three body parts we studied - brain, legs, and Malpighian tubules - but the effects were not uniform, disrupting key pathways critical for each tissue's functionality.

Excited to share our latest research on #bumblebee #transcriptomics 🐝 🧬 We show that #neonicotinoid effects vary across tissues, highlighting their complex and harmful impacts on #pollinators
