phrenology appears to be accurate but only for cartoons. there exists 'bad cartoon' phrenology, like the examples below, which predicts whether cartoon will be bad with 100% accuracy. all other forms of phrenology are a pseudoscience but cartoon phrenology is a law of physics.

'i before e except after c' is a classic example of this. there are 1000s of exceptions. you're almost better off flipping a coin. but one rule often followed but never taught is 'k replaces c when c would become soft (ie. before i or e)' which, while not as catchy, is much more useful

I've said this before and I'll say it again, it is insane how bad we are at teaching English. Both as a first language in school and a second language later in life. We teach people people rules that aren't rules, and don't teach them rules that are actually followed.

When this whole war business is over I’m going to go to Russia and buy that big helicopter they built for pennies and dimes and cruise around in it until the Soviet engineering combined with post-Soviet maintenance causes dual engine failure and I die in a fiery crash
