Here is my quick and dirty shot of the moon with a basic DSLR camera from Oct 13, 2024. The moon at about 240,000 miles is about 180 times closer than the comet Tsuchinshan - ATLAS today. Although the moon presents the same face to the earth, it is rotating and experiences day and night.
