finished quilt “Dreaming Through the Joy And the Pain,” 2024. i’ve felt really nervous about sharing this one because it’s so personal, but am super proud of it. it’s got a bunch of beadwork, embroidery, and hand-appliqué as well as being entirely hand-quilted!
the front and back of a small 2’ x 3’ quilt edited so they are seen side by side on a blank white background. the front of the quilt has curving fabric shapes with stars and horses appliquéd and embroidered on it, and the back is mostly rectangles and triangles pieced together. the colors on both sides are various shades of purple and blue with bits of pale green, sunny yellow, orange, and pink. some of the fabrics are floral prints. The front also has the text appliquéd on it, “I’m dreaming through the joy and the pain” in hot pink letters

another in-progress quilt, hand appliquéd because i love pain /j

The top one, apple-green colored, reads “when i wake up” and is pinned to the fabric. The next line reads “in the grass” and is teal, and the fourth line, in lilac fabric, reads “will I remember.” There is blank space above and below for more lines to be added to the fabric. Sitting behind the quilt further back on the quilt is a pile of screen printed patches and a black sweater.

hand-embroidered turtle patch made for a sweet friend! based on mr chicken legs here
a small oval fabric patch, with an embroidered turtle surrounded by little stars on a fuzzy white fabric background. the patch is being held in a light skinned hand in front of a window with rainbow film over it a small painted turtle sitting and sunning itself on a log. its back feet are stretched out behind it. the log is half submerged in milky green water and surrounded by reeds. the turtle’s head and legs are yellow and black, and its shell is dark with a bright coral colored strip along the edge.

here’s an in-process quilt i’m working on!
