Congratulations to Dr Richard Chatterjee who just successfully defended his DPhil! I’m so proud of him! He is a rockstar and is revolutionising our understanding of atmospheric escape. Here’s to more science together 💜

30 years ago was the discovery of the first exoplanet orbiting a Sun-like star. This discovery kickstarted a whole new field of Astrophysics. Here is me in 2016 on an observing run at the observatory where it all happened. Little did I know I’d still be studying exoplanets nearly a decade later!

There’s currently a lot of drama on US twitter because someone made an app called Tea where users had to upload their ID to access, and now all the data has been leaked. Meanwhile, UK MPs are praising their new ID verification to access the internet in the UK scheme and claiming it’s perfectly safe

The memes I made today at #ExoclimesVII when I saw the >1500 hours of observations of rocky exoplanets with JWST (observed/planned). Majority of which are not published.

Over 1500hrs are dedicated to rocky exoplanets already with JWST. Please TAC, no more rocky planets!!!! Let’s get data of gaseous planets! Let’s get the first data sets of rocky planets published so we know where can optimise our interventional strategies… #ExoclimesVII
