The cannons protected the slave dungeons from pirates but thousands of ancestors, jumped in the ocean to die instead of taking the journey in small boats. I walked down from the castle to the ocean , cried my eyes out and told all of them thank you.

When I visited the slave dungeons on the west coast of Africa, I took this picture in front of the Female holding cell. The Portuguese and Brits placed up to 5000 women and young girls in here to be raped, assaulted , and some killed before they left to be enslaved. #Blacksky

I visited Cape Coast, Ghana last year and the tour guide explained all of this to us. I toured one slave dungeon , couldn’t do another.
