I've been on a mission to typeset some of my favorite #dhr fics in an e-reader friendly format- which in my case also requires the creation of covers and individual summary pages (themed, of course)

He held her for longer than she expected- long enough for her to realize he was holding her with her feet off the ground like she weighed nothing and that he smelled like cedar and orange. He set her down and she backed up swiftly, resituating her hair. "Yes, Malfoy." "Yes?" He cocked his head. "I'll live with you."

"And this advice helps me how, Malfoy? I just wanted to complain about an issue I've been having to my friend without being judged for not being from the third richest family in the Wizarding World." She poked him in the chest to emphasize the word 'friend.' "Granger," Malfoy wrapped her poking finger in his whole hand, "I'm trying to invite you to live with me." "What?!" Hermione squawked. Malfoy chuckled and wrapped his hand around Hermione's whole poking hand. "You are my friend, Granger, and I know how much purchasing your own home without any help means to you." "Living with you would not qualify as without any help!" Hermione argued. "It does if you still pay rent." Hermione's confusion must have shown because, Malfoy continued, "You're the one who's always saying that everything is expensive because of that housing balloon the Americans' popped-" "Housing bubble." "Balloon, bubble, whatever." Malfoy squeezed the hand Hermione hasn't realized he was still holding. "My point is that I can offer a much cheaper rent than anyone else, a rent you might have normally paid for an apartment if the economy wasn't shit." Hermione was speechless. She was pretty sure her mouth was hanging open. "Just think about it, Hermione." Malfoy squeezed her hand one last time, and turned to go. "Draco." Hermione grasped his shoulder and he turned back to her. "Do you.. are there.. house elves in your home?" Malfoy rolled his eyes. "No, Granger. I haven't kept house elves since you sat me down and gave me that 3 hour lecture about slavery and autonomy and freedom." Hermione furrowed her brow. "That was 9 years ago." "I know, Granger." "You never said anything."

"Well, excuse me, if I don't feel like taking advice from a 30 year old man who still lives with his mummy!" Malfoy smirked. "I'm 29, and my mummy lives with me." "Oh yes!" Hermione hollered. "In the giant estate you purchased with the money you earned how? By being born into the richest family in the Wizarding World?" "The Malfoys are actually the third richest in the Wizard World, after the Yamamura family, and the Mncube family. And we only became third after the Black family fortune passed to me." He cocked a brow at her. "We used to be fifth." Hermione threw her hands up in frustration and turned to storm away. "We are the richest in Europe," he called after her, "by quite a large margin actually. But of course, the Malfoys and Blacks were first and second richest, respectively." He siddled in front of her and grinned. "Prior to my inheritance." Hermione groaned and rolled her eyes. "Managing the estate is one of my many duties as the head of house, Granger. Which is how I know that you'll never manage to save up enough to purchase a home or your own if you keep living in entirely too expensive flats in Diagon." Malfoy's face seemed to soften a bit.
