It's been suggested I share some my rocks and crystals.
This particular sample is selenite, a monoclinic crystal of gypsum. It is named for the moon, for its milky, clouded appearance.
There is a particular cave in Mexico where great spurs of this can be found. It's quite hot inside-- near 60C!
