Tbh, I think being very, incredibly skilled with the type of abstraction that IQ tests represent can put you in a position to basically live in illusions.

I think in a lot of cases the correlation is even negative - your ability to influence the world is *hampered* by having an understanding of abstraction. Note that I'm not going to even take the step to call it an "understanding of the world." - its understanding of abstraction.
