It's a famous old saying. "There are lies, there are damned lies and then there are statistics." I'm assuming they were pointing out that stats can tell you anything you want them to.

I'm hopeful that's what Mitchell will be doing. Starting a sporting director job 4 days into the transfer window is a bit like trying to drink from a fire hose. Now he can refine the transfer strategy and get to work. It's a big rebuild due next summer with (13?) players out of contract.
