Did not find gold, but the remain of an old guardian statue.

Temple spot was in use in the 900s. Current single tower was built after 1200, in use well after the Empire.

Morning at Srah Srang Baray

This sunrise spot is the laterite docks in front of the Banteay Kdei. Aka 'A Citadel of Chambers', but also known as "Citadel of Monks' cells”.

Visit Banteay Kdei is a suitable activity after the sunrise.

Got the sun making out with a particular wild cloud before setting for the night.

No food after midnight, no water, and stay away from bright light

The monkeys at Phnom Bros temple are very used to humans.

These banana-crazed pig-tailed macaques are also quite the personalities, for good and bad.

Apsara lady playing pin

Pin is a 1400 year old Cambodian harp instrument, a significant musical heritage.

The Pin is an arched harp, first found in engravings in Sambor Prey Kouk, the capital of Chenla, the last Khmer kingdom before the Empire of 802 CE.

Along the road to Tonlé Sap Lake from Siem Reap, rice fields, open farmland and wetland gives a splendid outlook.

Prasat Lolei, ប្រាសាទលលៃ, is the northernmost temple in the old capital of the Khmer empire Hariharalaya. Finished in 893CE, the temple group of four towers was dedicated to Shiva.

King Yasovarman I later moved the capital to Yaśodharapura, near Angkor Thom.

Prasat Banteay Chhmar meaning in modern Khmer is Temple of cats.

A figure frequent here is the Lokeshvara, the compassionate Bodhisattva.

Lokeshvara was given eleven heads to better hear the suffering of humans, and a thousand arms so he could help all of them.

Battambang city in West-Cambodia features remarkable statues at entry points.

The most iconic of these statues is this multicoloured of Ta Dambong holding a magical staff.

The city of Battambang ("Bat-dam-bong") is named after him.

The mini citadel temple

The temple complex of Prasat Banteay Chhmar is one of the largest and least known Khmer Empire building works from the 1200s CE.

Old steps at Preah Vihear

There is steep stairs to enter the first Gopura.

The main steps are large and old stone fitted together for a thousand years.

Rest of the temple is level, stretching to a fantastic view to its home north in Cambodia.

With over 20 pagodas in the city proper, there are a lot of visible monks in Luang Prabang.

Admittedly, this one was more visible than most.

Morning chores by the Mekong river

The daily rituals of the monks in Luang Prabang is some of the interesting and unique in this city. Very popular among visitors.

Personally I enjoy see the everyday lives of people. This is a favourite visiting this old city.

Old angry man in blue sky river

A sudden change to rainy clouds added heavy blue tone to the Tonle Sap River Walk along Sisowath Quay.

In the evening the riverside fills up by ppl eating, drinking, dating. Cruise boats at the ready.

A tree with a sunset view

There are days when settling down and starting a business on a Pacific Island feels slightly tempting as an alternative career.

Like this day, years and years ago.

A light hike along the ridge to the top of this tropical island.

The most important word in Fiji is “Bula” – a universal greeting that can mean anything from “hello” to “hoorayh”.

Common heritage framed by trees and jungle, the Sâmbor Prey Kŭh temples of pre-Angkor Chenla kingdom was added to our common World Cultural Heritage in 2017.

The Chenla kingdom bridges the earlier Funan Kingdom with the rise of the Khmer Empire.

I saw the Buddha in the stone

The heritage from the old capital city of Chenla is still visible in the Kampong Thom area.

Like the art of great stonework. It is still kept in high regard in the modern day just south of city.
