Most sf gets biology wrong. Or maybe we don't know enough about physics etc to know when they're getting that wrong. So suspend disbelief and enjoy the yarn

Agree with point about refocus on mission rather than growth. Especially with the coming "demographic cliff."
At the same time, I think a lot of departments could stand to cut down the number of PhDs they churn out. I don't think this will necessarily impact the quality of science.

Maybe NIC was doing a really bad job with email servers. I won't be surprised. But of course, kicking some nice govt. contracts to a "friend" of the party in power is probably another reason.
