Better late than never.
As President Biden continues to face questions about whether he should end his bid to seek a second term, there are growing signs that many in the Democratic Party are willing to accept Vice President Harris at the top of their presidential ticket.
Democrats begin to consider Harris at the top of their ticket
Several party leaders suggest that if Biden steps aside, Harris would have to be his replacement.

Chandrayaan-3 just landed on the moon, making India the fourth country to achieve a "soft" (non-catastrophic) moon landing. Nice! This is a fun story from Mission Control in Bengaluru 🧪 www.scientificamerican.com/article/chan...

Agreed. You do in fact need to maintain some degree of public trust in the rule of law to have a functioning society, and the situation is getting very grim in the US.
a thing that i very sincerely believe is that trump *has* to be found guilty, and that we are going to be in grave, grave trouble if he isn't.

i'm not sure how likely i think that is.
Which is not to say that the US legal system wasn’t also extremely corrupt, unfair, and weighted towards rich white men in the past - but shit sure feels like it’s become a lot more egregious after Trump.

Fact check: true. A lot more humans are bitten by other humans on the NYC subway every year than are bitten by sharks in the whole world.

I use this stat in my talks and can always tell who has been to NYC by their faces. “Wait what that makes no sense” vs. “yeah I can see it”

Today in 1996, the International Court of Justice issued an advisory opinion ruling that the threat or use of nuclear weapons “would generally be contrary” to humanitarian law and the laws of war, and that states must pursue nuclear disarmament under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Earth’s Aphelion Isn’t the Reason for the Seasons

Guess I have to dust this one off again. We don’t abandon Americans to fascist autocracies even though the liberals think that is an acceptable response in place of actually governing.
