I've been listening to fellow senators of Cory Booker while they're giving him breaks during the filibuster. If you want to know what your government does for you, tune in and listen. They've spoken on healthcare, agriculture, and now veterans' affairs.

I appreciate Cory Booker for what he is doing, but why did he start "filibustering" after business in the Senate was done for the day? Why not actually filibuster if he wants to disrupt the norm? I just don't know if this is actually useful or just performative.

Can we please pass a law that states that during the event of a government shutdown, elected representatives do not get their salaries and paychecks? If the rest of our federal employees don't get paid, neither should Congress or the Senate.

I'm trying really hard to not wish measles on the child of the woman who continues to post that all you need to beat measles is Vitamin A. But at the end of the day, I'd prefer a child to be alive and well rather than me be proven right. (I guess.)

I spent part of my weekend arguing with a FB acquaintance about RFK Jr and the Texas measles outbreak only for her to mock me for sending a CNN article and "inform" me that the government pays for news articles that push their agenda.

How do you stay engaged (if you do) with people who disagree politically? I called out an acquaintance who posted something positive about RFK Jr and sent her an article to back up what I was saying. This lady said that all news articles were fake, and now I have no idea how to combat her misinfo.
