This is an Indiana State Representative. You know, the kind that gets to write and vote on legislation for the state. He’s posted racist, sexist, nazi, garbage online for years and got a DUI in 2023. I don’t get how he’s still allowed to hold this position.

Some Indiana lore relevant to Whitestown: this highway sign

For.fucks.sake.

Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita is suing Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) for “thwarting” ICE.

Same guy that launched “eyes on education” portal that’s purpose is to report anything remotely “woke” seen in schools.

I hate it here

“We need law and order restored,”

said Indiana’s chief legal officer,

the state’s Attorney General since January 2021.

“It’s shameful that the leadership here refuses to do anything about it,”

he also said.

I wouldn’t have healthcare without the ACA because of my collection of “pre-existing conditions” and it really sucks how many people are fine with that if it wins them some kind of political edge

Not a single mention of disabled people or how we actually use voice assistive technology.

Just a nod to *the accessibility community* which is NOT code for disabled people.

I'm so tired of the tokenization of accessibility & disabled people to force AI/LLMs into every crack & corner of tech.

I haven't kept up — is a on every work a sign of using Figma Sites?

This is the America by Design home page; an official US govn't website and created through an August 21, 2025 executive order.

Thank you @edenroyce.bsky.social, your essay is so so so good.

Grandma showed me her death folders many times, the last time Feb 2023. She wore the sweater I knit the Christmas prior. This sweater & folder live in my home now. 😞

I hope to write about Grandma outside character limits one day.

1) This frames the internet as a problematic place for the gathering of identities & ideas they disagree with.

2) American eugenists called for segregation with the same language 100+ years ago.

3) Frames the same people in my first point as dangerous opposite of “normal, hardworking, law abiding”

“President Trump Is Right About the Smithsonian”

Right about what? Like this section about the National Museum of the American Latino, what specifically is the problem? 🤔

Disabled, plus-sized actresses?
Ambulatory wheelchair users?
Latinx, LGBTQ+, Disabled stories?

It’s ridiculous how many people have taken the “enhanced” image as fact when this one exists right next to the source

I’m sorry but what in the entire fuck are Indiana republicans like Jim Banks even talking about.

Indiana has had a republican trifecta for 15 years straight. Would be 21 if not for dems having the house 2007-2010.

She is my first and last thoughts every single day. Every single day, such heavy thoughts. I love to picture her smile and laugh, even though those images quickly remind me of the cold permanence of her absence.

This 27-year-old wrote that he’s uploaded 1,500 books to Amazon and made $3M.

He said writers are broke bc nobody cares about books on what writers find interesting.

Meanwhile I spent over $200 just today on books relating to disability, access, history, culture, etc. Many bc I love *their* work.

These kinds of language patterns are so loud and immediately noticeable to me.

Using “female” but not “male.” And “men” but not “women.”

This is from a legislation tracker by The Chronicle of Higher Education: www.chronicle.com/article/here.... The page says this is just college-related legislation as well. States have gone beyond that, Indiana for example.
August 10, 2025 at 2:49 PM
Well all this formal, legal language made me hate "functional limitations" pretty fast. Too 1907 for me.

It's extremely reasonable to be concerned with a denim pants ad that focuses genetic qualities which have nothing to do with denim pants.

Ad said: "Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color. My genes/jeans are blue."
