Just posting this again because I can: a new humanity, forged in the crucible of intergalactic war has spread throughout the galaxy; among them are millions of Muslims who must return to Earth for Hajj. Meet the crew: 🧵

We need more young, brave people to stand up and step out and be active community leaders and elected representatives.
Yesterday, I pleaded not guilty to the charges that Trump’s DOJ has hit me with in federal court.

This administration is targeting me because they can see that I’ve spoken out against them and will continue to stand up to them.

Think I'll be catching this instead of Wuthering Heights because it looks both romantic and utterly BATSHIT. (shout out to @theabigailthorn.bsky.social since this appeared in the advertising on her channel, otherwise I would never have known it even existed)

i don't mean this in terms of hypocrisy, i mean it in literal, linguistic terms: what is this if not censorship by the state

not "what about!"

just this, taken on its own, wherein the government must approve what you teach adults. we literally have a word for it.

"narco-terrorist" as a phrase is so phenomenal. combining the two biggest, decades-long foreign policy failures since the end of the cold war. i'm sure it'll work.

“We killed a bird, cooked it, and ate it as part of a feast day,” is to my knowledge a concept which every culture has. How can one possible fail at comprehending the Thanksgiving turkey?
It’s how you end up with language like “paperwork American” or the idea that Thanksgiving turkey is some sort of natural ethno-national tradition that certain other groups are incapable of ever appreciating

Watching The Banker (2020) and it's... schmaltzy and oversimplistic (and likely as inaccurate as any "based on a true story" movie will be by definition) but it's also wholesome and optimistic in a way I needed this morning.

If you don’t have kids you can’t say anything about kids, that includes saying they shouldn’t be trafficked and abused by the rich. Fucking lunacy.

I think the reason I enjoyed Materialists is that it's structured far closer to a "thriller," in terms of how the story is structured and edited. There's also this creepy dystopian vibe when people are constantly talked about in terms of "value," so the "big reveal" is about that

People love to say transphobic/xenophobic shit to retail sales personnel because, on some level, they know we can't respond, so they can smugly say mean-spirited bullshit and feel like they did something because we couldn't dunk on them like Michael Jordan because a retail store isn't Facebook.

Rebuilding AFTER homelessness is whole ordeal in and itself informed by this gnawing feeling that it can happen again. “Explain this gap in your resume” can make you break out in a cold sweat.
I'm a mad person who's lived on the streets & knows a lot of mad people & I know that people like me are disproportionately inclined to homelessness & I don't like when that gets taken out of the conversation. But our reality is that late stage American capitalism can push anyone to the streets.

Every time I read what the government does to hurt our veterans, I think of Dan Crenshaw. He supports the convicted felon and ignores our veterans.
More than ⚠️1.2 MILLION⚠️ veterans depend on SNAP.

Republicans don’t respect veterans’ service. They won’t even keep hunger from their door.

On #VeteransDay, show real appreciation for those who have served by protecting essential support like SNAP.
