Merfolk renditions (and yet another long abandoned work in progress) of Kuja from Final Fantasy IX and Sal from Anthology of Anon (an OC from an original story of mine.) They are placed within a body of water, abundant with water lillies and other flora while sharing a more intimate moment. There is story material connected to this piece that not only depicts the lotus visually, but touches on its symbolism. Because it is a flower that represents rebirth and renewal, offering beauty beyond the murky waters from which it emerges, it aptly represents Kuja's experience in facing death before being presented with the opportunity of life again via Sal's kind - whether or not this life is indeed another life again or simply something beautiful and enduring to hold onto before his passing is a matter divided by two different endings that, if ever written, would be left up to the reader.

A work in progress featuring a custom take on Kuja from Final Fantasy IX and Sal from Anthology of Anon (an OC from an original story of mine.) They are depicted dancing before a moonlit window, Sal is in a delicate white dress with one of her Ethereal wings out (Ethereals and Ethereal features also being exclusive to Anthology of Anon) while Kuja dons an embellished black suit, a portion of his cape manifested into a dark fabric-ated wing (pun intended.) The composition was inspired by a scene from Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust.
