I used to be nocturnal for a certain Lucasfilm Animation series.

I edit online encyclopaedias, like one called Wookieepedia— (Go-Visit-Wookieepedia.org).

Aside from that, I would consider myself an individual interested in film keyset images and similar.

I just desired to ask Hidalgo if the LSG are still adhering to the circa 25,000 BBY/BSW4 date for the founding/formation of the (old) Galactic Republic, as established in sources like The Star Wars Book, or if Timelines' re-dating of circa 20,000 BBY is what ought to be listed.

Is that the explanation for a pretty subtle lighter region surrounding the Millennium Falcon here? Though, could just be general optical composite shenanigans.

Is a Frank Connor associated with the film photography?

Canonical reference material, specifically DK's entries within the Visual Dictionary series and materials with derive from the former, such as the various new editions of the Character Encylopedia and other sources. Some may conflate. So, this is a very interesting question on intent.

Or blue, rather.

I desired to inquire about this, since it is a matter I've been pondering on recently.
Concerning two particular unit production stills of the ANH film keyset, do you Chee or Hidalgo know the reason why the lightsaber blades are uncoloured or white?

I love you for it. Thank the Story Group for me.

Oh wow, that's a fair point of physics which I did not account for in all this time - free fall and objects falling at the same rate. I'm a student of history, so the armchair (and actual) physicists will have to forgive me on this.
The magnetic aid works in tandem more perfectly than I realised...

I admittedly collect those sticker books for their niches, but hey, they give me some nice reference images sometimes.

Those wide environmental shots are rarely published in material anymore! They are nice to stare at for many minutes at a time.

I liked that you essentially merged information together in your Fascinating Facts book. I always inferred that the artificial gravity present within the bombers accelerated the proton bombs, which is a sufficient explanation in of itself.

Seems that mis-understanding was even in a source or two.

I've returned to BlueSky and I have remembered to ask

@holocronkeeper.bsky.social about the ordnance, which is utilised in the MG-100 StarFortress bombers. These were defined as magno-charges, but subsequent sources drop this term.
Any reason as to why?

It was extremely fun parsing them and adding the relevant information to file description pages on the Wook and such. The diversity in the selected images also helped, such as using Anton Grandert's notable Star Wars: Battlefront key artwork depicting the Battle of Jakku. Truly a pro historian move.

Got to love seeing the fresh images used also.
May 26, 2025 at 4:04 PM
Agreed, and such choices even extend to the classified "non-narrative material" such as licensed imagery/art to reference material, especially work meant to be interpreted as in-universe material such as the brilliant Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire. I loved the diegesis for the image captions.

I understand the inclination.

I will double my efforts.

It does seem from this image, that the one on the right has a purplish hue, though it's difficult to discern within that lighting.

I found a scan, though I suspect it is the 2010 version (indicated by the text in the right corner of the LP?) I've not researched too much into the other uses of this.
February 16, 2025 at 4:16 AM
So that only leads me to inquire; why the teaser poster itself, presumably as scanned in the Lucasfilm Image Archive is of a different colouration? Was it a proper colouration that was also utilised? Since even the Japanese variant of the advanced one-sheet has a similar colouration (EP5-POS-4).

Bob Peak Jr., one of the sons of famous film poster illustrator Bob Peak, photographed the Vader suit (upper portion). An image took by him would be the one utilised for the "floating Vader's helmet" element on the teaser poster. Here's a similar image in the same set taken (designated MCH-IA-431).
February 15, 2025 at 6:23 AM
In at least four published sources, the exact image above is utilised (altered in one, the text is restored closer to its white colouration for J.W Rinzler's The Making of TESB)This is not what seems to be the true colouration for the one-sheet considering the textless versions (EP5-POS-2/EP5-POS-1)
February 15, 2025 at 6:10 AM
I've been investigating posters, and a particular one has caused me to devote much more time into researching it than anticipated.

The poster in question is TESB's theatrical advanced/teaser one-sheet produced for the holiday period of 1979 (designated as EP5-POS-3 in the Lucasfilm Image Archive).

Just watched Red Tails again - an enjoyable watch.

I did find it pretty neat that Lucasfilm's image archive essentially has or at least had Second World War historical photographs. Featuring the designation for Red Tails - pretty cool as well...

Such as this famous Edward Creston Gleed P-51 image:
