Judaism is a religion. It is also an identity for a People. But, Jews, like Catholics, have many different cultural identities. Ashkenazi, Sephardim, Ethiopian, Yemeni, etc are among the many culturally distinct groups of Jews.

Catholicism is a religion. The cultural element would be something like Irish Catholic, Italian Catholic, Spanish Catholic...all are very different CULTURALLY.

Not the places - the governments who invaded Israel, forcing the creation of occupied areas adjacent to Israel to protect Israel from a third (now fourth) invasion on attempts to destroy Israel. The governments who continue to refuse recognition of Israel, created under UN Charter. Gaza is a pawn.
