Indigenous Peoples’ Day honors the original nations whose histories span thousands of years, celebrating their resilience, cultures, and traditions. ASALH will be closed today to honor their enduring impact and contributions, and to recognize the truths that cannot be erased.

Saturday ended the conference with unforgettable moments at the Awards Banquet, celebrating achievement and community. Additionally, Sunday’s Atlanta Westside and 1906 Race Massacre Tour was the perfect finale.

Friday had it all, from the Author’s Book Signing to the Boots on the Ground Reception. We captured moments with the Divine 9 and connected through panels, workshops, and sessions. It was a day of inspiration, reflection, and community, the kind only ASALH creates.

Day 2 brought us into the heart of the conference. Rooms buzzed with panels, presentations, and conversations carrying Carter G. Woodson’s vision forward. We learned from one another and felt the power of collective scholarship in every space. Thursday reminded us why this gathering matters.

We miss our ASALH family already. It’s hard to believe it’s been two weeks since our last family reunion… we mean Annual Conference 🙌🏾 . Day 1 opened with registration and the Welcome Happy Hour, setting the stage for days of connection, scholarship, and celebration.

ASALH President Dr. Kaye Whitehead issued a statement warning against attempts to erase Black history. From slavery to BLM, our stories matter. Since 1915, ASALH has preserved Black history and we stand in fierce opposition to efforts to distort or silence it.
