As for horror that made me go “NOPE” but I was still 100% there for: T.Kingfisher. Her Alex Easton trilogy, The Twisted Ones, The Hollow Places, hell even most of her other stuff that’s not strictly horror but still has things like… serial severed heads and that FUCKING HORSE, etc, *chef kiss*

World War Z is the only book I was determined to finish despite being UTTERLY horrified, then IMMEDIATELY gave it to a friend who would appreciate it more.

Kingdoms of Needle and Bone was the first Mira Grant book to really shake me, but pandemic so maybe too on the nose.

I think I found some turtles that could be the right size, but I will need to dye them, and I think I found some bells for the smaller turtles. All the trial and error all over the place. 3/3

Ordered some more from different sources: bunnys are coming with new tassels, and stars from a US listing. Still trying to find a good size ratio between turtles & bells. Turtles I’ve found so far in the right color/close to are technically too small. Bells I found are currently too big. 2/3

Further adventures in sourcing craft supplies: 1st set of tassels were the wrong color, and it’s not monetarily worth it to send them back; 1st set of bunnys/silver stars are stuck in postal hell and I’m not sure I’m actually going to get them. 1/?

About half of my Etsy ordered beads arrived and are much smaller than I thought they would be. Re-examination of Zoey’s norigae shows it’s a lot smaller than you’d think, so this could work. Might have to downsize the mermaid glass & pearl beads I already bought tho.
