Bad news: my mom has kidney cancer
Good news: it hasn't spread, and her surgery is at the beginning of January.
I am feeling very overwhelmed. As you all know, cancer has taken several family members from me. I don't really know how to take this news. I was hoping against hope it wasn't cancer.

If you have any extra good vibes or words of support/encouragement, can you send them our way? A large mass was found on my mom's right kidney. If it is cancer (doctor is treating her as if it is), it hasn't metastasized. So that's one positive.

Today is International Stuttering Awareness Day. As you all know, this cause is very dear to my heart because I am a person who stutters. In my case, it's genetic. There have been many days where I've wished I could speak like everyone else, but unfortunately, that will never happen.
