"Many scientists told 60 Minutes that vaccines could be the best defense. There is a vaccine for bird flu, but it has not been licensed by the Food and Drug Administration. Moderna has a new one, but the Trump administration has paused its final funding."
As the H5N1 bird flu virus mutates and rapidly spreads through American cattle herds — a first for the U.S. — doctors and veterinarians are fearful that if the virus is left unchecked, it could spiral into a possible pandemic. https://cbsn.ws/4ionCJG

Yes, hunker down, buy less, travel less, buy second hand.
It will reduce quality of life and shrink the economy. Why? If you can’t trust baby food to not kill your kid, you make your own. If you can’t trust toys to not kill your kid you buy fewer toys, focusing on a few trustworthy brands. If you can’t trust planes not to crash you fly less.
“Many people don’t realize how high the American quality of life is because of the competent & stable enforcement of regulations, &if that goes away a lot of lives are at risk,” said Steve Cicala… “This affects airplane safety, baby formula safety, the safety of meat, vegetables and packaged foods…”

Yep, we had a chance.
Nobody wants to say that Bidenomics worked at anything, but we really did have a successful targeted industrial policy that was reviving critical domestic industries and starting a manufacturing construction boom. Trump is destroying all that. From @ryanlcooper.com:

Donald Trump Is Going to Destroy American Manufacturing
