Just start the next movie with a bad guy telling Bond “I thought you were dead,” give Bond a snappy quip, and then carry on.

Like watching Muhammad Ali vs. Cleveland Williams.

“We disrupt personal finance” is surprisingly accurate, but perhaps not in the way they intended.

This might be a personal or generational thing, but I use “Everything’s coming up Milhouse!” (substitute name as needed) a lot.

Some days I legitimately think social media has been a net-negative for society. The internet has always been full of jerks, but you used to have to actively seek them out for the most part on random forums or comments sections.

This is on the list of things that would have seemed like bad satire if you wrote them down and sent them back in time 25 years. It’s a long list these days, to be fair.

It’s one of like two medicines you’re allowed to give infants and toddlers. Anyone who has had to care for a screaming baby with a fever or teething pain is going to ignore that shit.

As a Fed that was RIFed earlier this year, I think the most important factor will be if the SCOTUS ultimately lets Trump’s orders regarding RIFs and collective bargaining stand. If they essentially make government employment at-will, I don’t think it’s recoverable.

I like reading your work because you have excellent insight into the dynamics of Congress. But a week ago you wrote that Congress should fight back against Trump’s abuse of authority, esp. impoundment. Isn’t this the only leverage Democrats have to start that fight?

I’ve noticed in a lot of online discussions over the past 5-10 years, people have started to say games are poorly designed instead of just “I don’t like this.”

I was a Fed who was fired in July. I wish they had made a stand 6 months ago. Unfortunately I think they’re in an unwinnable position now because there are no concessions they can conceivably receive now that Republicans know SCOTUS will just rubber stamp any action by Trump.

Putting aside the merits of the argument, Democrats can’t make any deals with Trump unless SCOTUS rules against him on impoundment issues. He’s shown that he is just going to ignore legislation as he sees fit.

She deserved an Oscar nomination for Smile 2 imo.

I’ve recently had to explain divorce to my kids for the first time and the concept was much more troubling to them and prompted more follow-up questions than gay marriage ever did.

I saw The Dark Knight opening night at an IMAX theater in the Chicago area, and a lot of the stunt crew were in the theater. They erupted in cheers at random stunts (like when the SWAT team all dangle from the building at the end). It was so much fun.

Same reaction my theater had to United 93. I actually think my friend and I barely spoke to each other the entire drive home from the theater.

Agreed, this is the route I took as well. I have been told that some minor things are lost, but it mostly cuts out a lot of distracting subplots for side characters. I definitely enjoyed it a ton and did not come out feeling like I missed much.

Same. I’d rather spend 4 hours at the airport than 30 extra minutes on a plane. Add an hour for every additional round of boarding and deplaning.

I don’t think it’s been legally or physically possible to obtain this level of swagger since about 1958.

I’m amazed she still has this post up from January, which was dumb at the time and has only become even more so every day since.

I feel like I had to sit through endless conversations about mortgages and insurance. Would be nice if that had managed to work its way into my subconscious so that I didn’t feel so clueless about those things as an adult, but alas.

Somehow both universally-liked and under-appreciated at the same time.

I’ve been sending mine to HR2@opm.gov. Not sure if that one is full too because I log off two seconds after hitting the send button.

I’d need to change my name and get some sort of sci-fi plastic surgery total face replacement before I ventured into public again.
