Sometimes, it’s good to be minimalistic. To try to create something with as little information as possible to show the whole picture. How about these: The white sands of Auba and Keep your chin up

I like to enter the odd art competition, with mixed success. But had good news from the Lumen gallery in Germany , just won first prize . The theme was ‘Demons and Darlings’

Finishing of an African women theme. Had to make up some docorated acrylic swatches that I will cut out to form the dresses and headdresses with the swatches when they are dry , you can see Ive used the ‘swatches’ technique for the headdress on this head www.michaelrossart.co.uk

So have a solo show with the HMVC gallery in New York for a month from the 15th February. They wanted a publicity photo with me and one of my paintings. I decided to wear a black fancy dress Gothic coat so I can blend in with the arty types. I’m just a sensible ordinary Guy at the end of the day!

I won’t be going skiing this year. Used to be a ski instructor in the day. So thought I would paint it. Calling it ‘Off Piste’ it’s big at 40” x 40” ( 100cm x 100cm) it’s very chunky and 3D

I wonder sometimes whether non-artists ever realise the magic that happens on a blank canvas. One minute there’s nothing.. next a wonderful piece of art.
